Favorite movie about dating?

High Fidelity has good lessons and is close to my heart. Have you seen it? A man (John Cusak, yum) gets bored with his girlfriend, revists his ‘all-time, top five girlfriends’ and tries to figure out why those relationships went south. In the process, he learns about his latest relationship and figures out his life. All while running a record store πŸ˜‰

  1. If you’re a Cusak fan you might enjoy Serendipity, a romantic comedy he did with Kate Beckinsale. It’s not as laugh-out-loud funny as High Fidelity, but it’s still quite good. A lot of people overlooked this movie because it had the bad timing to be released just a couple of weeks after the 9/11 terror attacks.

  2. Haha, I did not intend for the actions of the female protagonist to inspire similar behavior on your part. As is “what is meant to be in life”, I used to be a cynic about such thoughts, but life experience has proven me wrong over and over again. On that note, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind addresses “what is meant to be”, on an existential level vis a vis romantic attachment. This movie is way out there and not everyone’s cup of tea, but I thought it to be one of the most poignant romantic movies ever made.

    1. I really like that movie, it just makes me WANT to have a bigger picture story happen to me!

Eternal Sunshine is hard for me to watch, and has been since I broke up with The Boyfriend. Sometimes I still want to erase the memories πŸ˜‰

      Just kidding.

      Xoxo The Blonde

      1. Memories make us the person we are, even the bad ones. And as long as you have your life, your health, your family, and your friends, then you are already living the big picture story!
